The fifth Crickhowell Walking Festival is due to get under way on Sat 25th February and bookings, for both walks and events, are coming in fast. There is something on the programme for every level of walker from an easy stroll to a long day in the hills and all walks are led by experienced and enthusiastic leaders. Although the Festival was originally set up to encourage more people to visit the area at a time of year which is normally quieter, many local residents join the walks and events, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the beautiful area we live in. The events this year include a talk about the Mon & Brec Canal, in recognition of its 200th anniversary year, as well as a Big Band concert on the first weekend and a Twmpath on the last weekend. Collect a festival programme in Crickhowell Resource and Info Centre, telephone 01873 811970, or visit the Walking Festival section on the website. Book up soon to avoid disappointment!
