Catharine will not be opening her studio during the art trail 2011 as she is exhibiting in the oriel cric gallery in Crickhowell during April and May 2011. She can however be contacted by appointment only.
Catharine Marr-Johnson ARBS
Studied in London Chelsea following a classical training with an emphasis on anatomy and figurative work; she then took a course in bronze casting at the Sir John Cass School.
She became a member of the Society of Portrait Sculptors with whom she shows annually in Cork Street, London. She organises the SPS Friends events and has lectured in the National Portrait Gallery.
She is a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.
She completed 2 public sculptures for Wandsworth Council (Swans on Battersea Bridge Thames Path) and for the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain Association (Peter Pan Fountain for Great Ormond Street Hospital) and frequently works to commission specialising in children, adult and animal portraiture and is currently working on a figure of Ariel for the Willow Globe.
She enjoys making large garden sculptures, including figures, fountains, and sundials, working from her studio in the Black Mountains of South Wales and is an active supporter of Arts Alive Wales.
