Artytexture Stitch Group

A group of enthusiastic, skilled needleworkers and textile artists based in the Brecon Beacons National Park. A range of materials, threads and fabrics are used in both traditional and contemporary styles ofaplique, stumpwork and embroidery to produce intricate finished artwork. All our designs are original and take their inspiration from things we admire and value - they are as diverse as those who sew them. Margitta and Jan hold creative design and stitching workshops and have experience as leaders of community stitching projects. Brecon & District Credit Union

Brecon & District Credit Union - a savings and loans organisation, based on co-operative principles. It is owned and run by its members. Credit Union members save together and create a pool of money from which low cost loans are made. New members welcome.

Crickhowell and District Horticultural Society

The Society was established in 1977 and since then has continued to maintain an annual programme of talks, trips and events. New members are always welcome. Annual membership is £2.

Crickhowell Choral Society

Crickhowell Choral Society was founded in 1981 by a local GP David Hiley who persuaded any of his patients who said they could sing to join him in creating a choir. From this small group, many of whom are still members, a strong society of some 50 to 60 singers has evolved.
This year's (14th) May Festival "Guardian Angels" takes place between Thurs 1st May and Mon 5th May. The Festival aims to promote refreshing performances of exciting repertoire amidst the beautiful scenery of the Usk Valley.

Crickhowell County Primary School

Headteacher - Mr Wright. The school stands, surrounded by spacious playing fields, in a pleasant and elevated position on the western edge of Crickhowell. There are full facilities for children from Nursery age to Year 6. To request a prospectus or arrange a visit, telephone the school on the above telephone number or visit the school's website. Access to the school is via Llanbedr Road (turning north off the A40) and then follow Oakfield Drive to its end.

A Brecon based transport service for the over 60's or those of any age that are disabled. We have a 9 seater mini-bus operated by volunteers.

Crickhowell District Archive Centre

Crickhowell District Archive Centre is a treasure trove for family history hunters researching their roots. Run by volunteers, it was set up in 1999 by a group of local people in Crickhowell spurred on by a growing interest in genealogy. Open mon-sat 10am-12.30pm. Visitors can research in the archives or be helped in their investigations by the volunteer(s) of the day, according to their needs and apart from photocopying and Internet access - there is a small charge for this. A research service is provided for those unable to visit in person but charges also have to be made for this, to help cover the cost of running the Centre.

Crickhowell Panthers

The Panthers are one of the most successful Clubs in South Wales, affiliated to one of the oldest Senior Clubs in Wales. We currently have an Under 14 squad playing football in the South Wales Girls League and an Under 11 and Under 9 Development teams playing regular matches and competitions.
We encourage girls of all abilities from the age of 7 upwards who are keen on football to come along and enjoy the fun, friendship and of course the football.
With fully qualified and insured Coaches we aim to develop fitness, skill, teamwork and friendship. Although we take our football seriously a prime requirement is to learn in a secure, safe and fun environment."

Probus Clubs are social clubs for retired professional, business and other people - the only stipulation being that you should be fully or semi-retired!
Although Probus Clubs have a World-Wide presence, each club is independently run, with no over-all "umbrella" organisation to control or administer individual clubs.

The Town Council meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the conference room of the Crickhowell Resource & Information Centre and are open to the public.

St. Edmund’s Church

St. Edmund’s Church is set in the delightful market town of Crickhowell, in the Usk Valley, Brecon Beacons National Park. The church was built at the end of the 12th century and is cruciform in shape and surprisingly large. Two stained glass windows depicting The Flight into Egypt show the Angel Gabriel leading the Holy Family to safety. The church also houses a Holy Icon of the Resurrection. Ancient effigies of the church founders Lady Sybil and Sir Grimbald Pauncefote, lie on either side of the Sanctuary. The church is open every day to visitors from 9am until dusk.

Tools for Self Reliance

TOOLS FOR SELF RELIANCE groups collect old and unwanted hand tools from all over the UK. We clean, repair and sharpen them, and send tool kits to grass roots community groups in 6 African countries.

TFSR CYMRU is one of around 70 TFSR groups in the U.K, based in Crickhowell South Wales. We are a registered charity, and work towards a more equitable sharing of the world's resources.

Vale of Grwyney Community Council

Vale of Grwyney Community Council meet on the third monday of each month, rotating between Llan bedr, Llangenny and Glangrwyney village halls. Members of the public are welcome to attend, but may not speak at the meeting.
