A Crickhowell Summer Fayre is being held at Porthmawr again this year following a very successful inaugural summer fayre in 2010 when well over 1000 people attended in addition to the many stall-holders and participants.
This event raised circa £2500 for Crickhowell Horticultural Society aiding its financial sustainability for the coming years such that the show can continue as part of town life.
The Summer Fayre is being held at Porthmawr Country House on Sunday 24th July 2011 from midday until 6pm with the benefit going to Arts Alive – another invaluable organisation in Crickhowell needing financial support to continue its activities to all age groups and often the disadvantaged groups. Arts Alive has existed for over 25years embracing creative workshops in the visual arts and crafts such as spinning and weaving, ceramics and a host of other media. Equally so, performance arts, dance and yoga are being incorporated.
This year the summer fayre will host 30 local producers plus event performances in the marquee to include cookery and chocolate demonstrations, musical performances, a zumba extravaganza, with childrens’ face painting, clowns and much more.
Come and enjoy all the fun of the Fayre in this lovely setting in the heart of Crickhowell, and feast yourself at the BBQ, the tea and scones stall or sit back and relax with a good bottle of wine or beer form the bar with oldie Mr grasshopper!
See the bunting, follow the flags, wear your shades, don your shorts, brighten your shirt, bring the kids for village party mode, with children’s arts and crafts activities hosted by Arts Alive.
Opened by Crickhowell’s new Mayor cloaked in red to brighten the occasion at MIDDAY on Sunday 24th July 2011, admission only £1 for the worthy cause.
