The Crickhowell Resource & Information Centre (CRiC) is a voluntary community group, a non-profit distributing charity (registered charity no:1106479) and a company limited by guarantee (reg. No 4668297).
The objectives of the charity are:
to advance the education of the public by offering training in all matters relating to Information Technology
1. for the benefit or furtherance of charitable purposes by offering access to Information Technology and general support in furthering the objects of such charitable groups
2. the promotion for the public benefit of urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation and in particular Crickhowell, Llangattock, Glangwryney, Cwmdu & Tretower, Llangynidr by all or any of the following means:
CRiC operates from its centre in Beaufort Street, Crickhowell. The new centre, built with European funding under Objective 2 provides a one stop-information and resource centre to serve Crickhowell and the surrounding communities as well visitors to the area.
CRiC's day to day activities are carried out by volunteers supported by 4 members of staff.
CRiC's services include computer access, training, office services, photocopying and various other office related services.
CRiC's opening hours are: 10am - 5pm 7 days/week from March through to November and from 10am-4pm mon-sat, 10am-1.30pm Sun.
CRiC comprises a tourist information centre, coffee bar, internet access, art & craft gallery, conference and meeting rooms, the local Volunteer Bureau and Archive Centre. Powys' One Stop Shop services are also carried out from CRiC, and the local Dial-a-Ride administers its services from CRiC every weekday morning.
